What is ClimateDB

ClimateDB is a powerful tool for understanding climate change and modeling our world. Today, the world of climate data is highly fragmented. Climate data is produced by climatologists, citizen scientists, government agencies, corporations and NGOs.

To answer the hard questions we need to solve, climate researchers have had to go find, clean up and standardize climate datasets from CSVs, public database, and websites.

ClimateDB is the data warehouse for our climate:

  • automatically ingests public climate data from trusted sources

  • structures, standardizes and indexes the dataset

  • allows open access to query and combine that data to answer questions, monitor progress, and build on each other’s work
